Repair Your Windshield to Avoid Compromising Your Safety

We have an old 4×4 truck that was built in 1993. We bought it a few years ago when our car got wrecked unexpectedly
and we needed to start shopping around for a new vehicle. We figured that we would buy something cheap to get
around until we decided what kind of new car we wanted to buy. We actually have gotten a lot of good use of it over the
past few years: hauling the boat to the lake and getting wood for our wood burning stove during the winter.

Unfortunately, it seems to have developed a bad problem recently that my hubby thinks is a bearing going out in the
four wheel drive transfer case. Up until then, the only problems with it were rust and a big crack in the windshield. The
crack in the windshield ran all the way from one side to the other. The crack obviously started out as a small pit from
the impact of a rock but had spread from one side of a windshield to the other because the pit was not properly
repaired when it first happened.

When to repair the windshield

A clear windshield plays a significant role in safe driving. A little crack in it can turn into a big crack later. Don’t let the
little cracks in your vehicles windshield go uncontrolled. You should repair or replace a bad windshield as soon as
possible. When moisture gets in through the cracks, it can damage the seal and others parts of your car and ultimately
the safety of your vehicle. To prevent this from happening, you should get your windshield replaced or repaired as
soon as possible.

A windshield crack smaller than a dollar bill is still repairable but don’t wait for it to get even bigger because most
insurance companies will only cover the entire cost for long cracks up to 24 inches. An immediate repair action is
needed in order to avail the free windshield repair cost or else a replacement will become your only option.
